SEPTEMBER SESSION                                    September 2, 2014                FIRST TERM DAY

 

10:00 a.m. The board convened with Commissioners James Rockwell, Jim Chmelik and Skip Brandt, and Kathy Ackerman Clerk present.

 

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Rockwell opens budget hearing.

 

Approval of hiring of Jeffrey Troumbley as a patrol officer for the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office at $32,052.12 annually.

 

Brandt moves to approve the minutes of the August 26 meeting. Rockwell seconds.  Motion carries with all in favor.

 

Approval of the hiring of Jamie Facey in the Treasurer’s Office at $11.10 per hour.

 

Approval of wage increase for Julie Yocum to $10.90 per hour for successful completion of probation.

 

11:00 a.m. Rockwell closes budget hearing-no comments.

 

11:00 a.m. Deanna Hall regarding hardship-requesting forgiveness of taxes and solid waste for 2011.  Rockwell questions the amount of taxes due-approximately $250 per year, plus solid waste fee.  Rockwell advises they are over asset and over income. No action taken by the Commission on request.

 

Hall regarding two mobile homes that have been dismantled-the Assessor’s Office deleted these in 2012-requesting cancelation of these taxes, as they are no longer there. Brandt questions the amount-Hall advises $179.81, plus late fees.  Brandt moves to cancel Crocker.  Chmelik seconds.  Motion carries with all in favor.  Additional one-2010 and 2011 taxes due-property owner had advised that he would pay these-she has not received anything-amount due is $139.40-discussion.  Commission advises to continue sending notices.

 

11:30 a.m. Kirk MacGregor regarding agreement with Ada County for Pathology services-we have been using them for the past several years and have a good working relationship with them-no change in agreement amounts. Rockwell moves to approve pathology agreement with Ada County.  Chmelik seconds.  Motion carries with all in favor.

 

11:31 a.m. Rockwell moves to go into Indigent proceedings pursuant to Idaho Code 31-874. Chmelik seconds.  Roll call-District 1-yes, District 2-yes, District 3-yes.
