MARCH SESSION                                March 15, 2011                                  SECOND TERM DAY

 

10:00 a.m. The board convened with Commissioners Skip Brandt, Jim Chmelik and James Rockwell, and Kathy Ackerman, Clerk present.

 

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

Jay Sila, Area Manager for Craig Mountain Area, Idaho Department of Lands and Administrative Assistant, Sam Altman, regarding their mission in general, their supervisory area, responsibilities, revenue sources and distribution, timber management, Lands-Mines-Range Program and  fire management-discussion. Jay will report back on a yearly basis to keep the Commissioners up to date on IDL activities.

 

Brandt moves to approve minutes of March 8, 2011 meeting as amended.  Rockwell seconds. Motion carries.

 

11:00 a.m. Linda Hieter, CABS Inc. requesting a letter of intent to financially support their efforts-discussion. Chmelik questions interaction and cooperation with Treasure Valley Transit-discussion. Hieter regarding possibility of $1 per household tax increase-Brandt, Chmelik and Rockwell all decline that possibility.  Hieter regarding the possibility of a match through in-kind contributions. Discussion.  Commission requests written clarification on relationship between CABS and TVT.  Letter of intent not signed at this time.

 

11:30 Kevin Steere, Tahoe QRU, requesting letter of support for grant. Letter signed.

 

11:32 a.m. Brandt moves to go into executive session pursuant to IC 31-874/Indigent. Rockwell seconds. Roll call-all in favor.

11:55 a.m. End Executive Session-Lunch Break

 

1:00 p.m. Board reconvenes.  James Zehner, Commissioners regarding possible sale of green house across the street.  Zehner and Ackerman support keeping house for future use, although having the house vacant until it is needed would not be in the County’s best interest.  Chmelik moves to sell the house. Rockwell seconds.  Motion carries.  Zehner will get information to Ackerman so an ad can be placed.  List price will be $75,000. Vern Meyer will be asked to show the house.

 

Ackerman regarding remodel update-things moving forward-meeting with Barry from Idaho Stage tomorrow.

 

1:30 p.m. Jim Gorges regarding vehicle purchase plans for the next two years-presents a projected budget impact-discussion. No objection to ordering the vehicles that were scheduled for this budget year.

 

Gorges regarding work on Search & Rescue building-provides update-discussion.

 

Catering permit for Halfway Club at Greencreek Community Hall-approved.

 

Cancellation of taxes-$8.36-approved.

 

Alcohol and Beverage licenses approved.

Three Rivers Resort, Inc-beer and wine

Grangeville Country Club-beer and liquor

Grangeville Country Club-Rodeo Grounds-beer

Kooskia Café-beer and wine
