1:00 p.m. The board convened with Commissioners Skip Brandt, James Rockwell and Jim Chmelik and Kathy Ackerman, Clerk present.

 

The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

1:00 p.m. Brandt moves to go into Indigent proceedings pursuant to IC 31-874. Rockwell seconds. Roll call-all in favor.

 

2 Approval, 2 Denial, 0 Suspended/Tolled, 1-N1, 1 release-N1, 1-Liens, 1-Lien Release

 

1:20 p.m. End Indigent proceedings.

1:20 p.m. Gene Meinen cannot be here-Ackerman regarding quotes on the Battle Ridge Road project. Low quote was Cook & Sons with a bid of $25,259.60. Brandt moves to accept quote. Chmelik seconds. Motion carries with all in favor.

 

1:30 p.m. Ackerman regarding commissioner redistricting-provides copy of statute, new population figures and breakdown of districts. Discussion regarding possible changes to the districts. Rockwell moves to leave commissioner districts the same, as the districts are currently as nearly as equal as possible. Chmelik seconds. Motion carries with all in favor.

 

1:40 p.m. Brandt moves to approve the minutes of the December 27 as amended. Chmelik seconds. Motion carries with all in favor.

 

2:00 p.m. Jim Gorges and Mike Cook regarding the change order involving heaters in the Search & Rescue Building-they have not been able to track down the documentation needed to make sure this amount was not covered in the initial bid-discussion. Commission sees no way to cover this additional expense without the documentation.

 

Cook regarding the connection of the Search & Rescue Building to the city water system. An upgrade in pipe size would be beneficial to the city-Cook may be able to negotiate a lesser rate for our connection. Discussion. James moves to approve Mike Cook to enter into negotiations with the city. Brandt seconds. Motion carries.

 

2:15 Jail inspection.
