AUGUST SESSION August 20, 2013 THIRD TERM DAY
10:00 a.m. The board convened with Commissioners James Rockwell, Skip Brandt and Jim Chmelik, and Jessie Adams, Deputy Clerk present.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
10:00a.m. Melisa Bryant, Ida-Lew Economic Development regarding MOU. Funding has been awarded for the $35,000 per year for the next three years. Bryant advises that the MOU wordage changed a bit, with the main difference being the setting of a performance standard for full funding. Final draft will be ready by next week. Melisa also presented an update and an accounting of Warbird Weekend-2500 to 3500 people in attendance, with half of those people being from out of the area. Advertising reached 80,000-100,000 people. Melisa is going to set up a non-profit for future donations to the Warbird weekend called Friends of Warbird Weekend for 2014. Chmelik wanted Melisa to see if we had our fuel price posted- if our prices were cheaper, we would get more activity. Melisa will follow up with separate fuel posting sites, and Rockwell will get in touch with Mike Cook about it also.
10:20a.m. Kirk MacGregor presented a draft order granting the subdivision ordinance variance on the Tonini Family Partnership to the Commissioner’s for review. Kirk will change a spelling error, and made one addition to mention the split denial from Assessor’s Office will be released from record at Joe Wright’s request. Brandt made a motion to approve as amended, Chmelik seconded. Motion carried with all in favor.
10:40 a.m. Brandt made motion to approve minutes of the August 13 meeting. Chmelik seconded. Motion carried with all in favor.
11:00 a.m. Rockwell moves to go into Indigent proceedings pursuant to IC 31-874. Brandt seconds. Roll call-District 1- yes, District 2-yes, District 3-yes.
