Both parties must appear together in person with State or Federal issued picture ID (Valid or not expired for more than 3 years).
Applicants must provide their social security number when applying for the marriage license. In the event, the applicant has not been assigned a social security number, they must either provide written verification from the social security administration that they have not been assigned a social security number OR provide a birth certificate, passport or other documentary evidence by an entity other than a state or the United States.
No appointment is necessary. Blood tests are not necessary.
Applicants under the age of 18 age must present the above documentation AND be accompanied by a parent with a State or Federal issued picture ID.
The fee is $28.00, payable by check, cash or credit/debit card. (Card payments are subject to and additional $1, plus 2.5% fee charged by our vendor.)
Two copies of the marriage license are issued to the applicants.
After the marriage ceremony, the officiant completes the bottom section of each copy of the license. The copy with the gold seal is for the parties of the marriage. The other copy MUST be returned to our office to be recorded. After recording, the license is sent on to the State of Idaho, Bureau of Vital Records.
Certified copies of the recorded marriage license are available for $2.00 upon completion of this form by either the bride or groom or an immediate family member. A certified copy of the license will be needed for most legal actions, such as changing the name on driver’s license or with the social security administration.
