8. Building Permit System (repealed by Ord. #10)

COUNTY OF IDAHO ORDINANCE No. 8

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A BUILDING PERMIT SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR APPLICATION FOR PERMITS FOR PROVIDING FEES THEREFOR; PROVIDING FOR INSPECTIONS AND THE OFFICE OF COUNTY BUILDING INSPECTOR; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF IDAHO
COUNTY AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: Permits required: No person, firm or corporation shall erect, construct, move or structurally alter any building or structure located within the unincorporated territory of Idaho County, State of Idaho, without first obtaining a building permit from the County Building Inspector, through the office of the Idaho County Clerk.

SECTION 2. APPLICATION FOR PERMIT: Any person, firm or corporation desiring to erect, construct, move or structurally alter any building or structure within the unincorporated territory of Idaho County, ID, shall file an application with the County Building Inspector, on forms provided by the County through the office of the Idaho County Clerk, in the Idaho County Courthouse. All applications shall be accompanied by a plat plan showing the location of existing buildings and the location of the proposed building or structures. The plat shall also show the location of any streams, rivers or other bodies of water which might be susceptible to flooding conditions.

SECTION 3. FEES FOR PERMITS: The following fee schedule shall apply, in relation to permits issued under the provisions hereof

TOTAL VALUATION FEE
$1 to $500 $5.00
$501 to $2,000 $5.00 for first $500 plus $1.00 for each additional $100 or fraction thereof, to and including $2,000.
$2,001 to $25,000 $20.00 for the first $2,000 plus $3.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, to and including $25,000.
$25,001 to $50,000 $89.00 for the first $25,000 plus $2.50 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, to and including $50,000
$50,000 to $100,000  $151.50 for the first $50,000 plus $1.50 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, to and including $100,000
$100,001 and up $226.50 for the first $100,000 plus: $1.00 for each additional $1,000 or fraction thereof.

 

The above-mentioned fee or fees shall accompany the applications for permits as herein above provided.

SECTION 4: INSPECTIONS: The County Building Inspector, who shall be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Idaho County, upon the adoption of this ordinance, shall have the legal right to enter upon the premises of any property, public or private for the purpose or determining, by inspection, whether the proposed building site is reasonably safe from flooding. Proposed building on sites that have a flood hazard including installation of mobile homes, must be anchored to prevent flotation of lateral movement and use construction methods and materials that will minimize flood damage. The office of the County Building Inspector shall be in the County Clerk’s office, in the Idaho County Courthouse.

SECTION 5: SEVERABILITY If any section, clause, phrase, or provision of this ordinance is declared unconstitution­al or invalid, the declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this ordinance.

SECTION 6: EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon publication, following passage and approval.
